Show hall will open at 8am on Saturday October 24, 2009. There is convenient unloading areas and plenty of parking. Show will start promptly at 9am.

 

Entry Information:

Pre-registration is required entries are first come/first served and space is limited. Entries must be received by October 9, 2009 A late fee of $10.00 will be applied to entries received after October 9, 2009. Please make your checks payable to Lee Ann Hunsinger.

  

Awards/Placings:

This is a NAMHSA member show. If your model places 1st or 2nd in any open class (Novice classes are not eligible) it is eligible for NAN in 2010/2011 and or may participate in the Merit Award Program sponsored by NAMHSA.

 

Recycled Flats will be awarded 1st-6th place. The first and second place horses will be called back after their respective division for champ/reserve champ to be selected. Rosettes for Champion and Reserve Champion will be given. The Champion and Reserve Champions will then return and be judged for show Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.

 

Vendors:

Vendors are welcome. There is no fee to vend and you may sell from your table. However, if you are coming just to sell, please make a donation to the raffle (suggested value of donation is $20.00 and above). DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS in any form are always welcome.

 

Class Limits:

Limited to 2 horses per class in performance and 3 horses per class in halter. Classes may be split at show holder/judges discretion. However, due to time constraints. this may not be feasible. Class limit exemption cards are available. If you would like to show more that 3 horses in any particular class. you may purchase an exemption card for $1.00 per entry. Exemption cards will be available day of show. Although not required, feel free to email show holder ahead of time with your exemption requests.

 

Tags:

Leg tags are required. Please put YOUR NAME and HORSE'S NAME on one side BREED and GENDER on the other side. Please keep BREED side face up while on the showing table. Please include age for any FOAL entries. Please be sure that your name side is face down when your model is placed on the table for judging or risk being disqualified.

 

Division Descriptions:

 

OF's - Original Finish Plastic mass produced from a factory. Minor touch-ups permitted. All these models will be judged for collectibility.

Customs - Mass-produced models that are remade, repainted, re-positioned, and/or etched. Also includes resculpted manes and tails or haired as well as carved ears & hooves and added shoes. This division also includes BHR, Northlight, Sandicast, Lakeshore and Breyer resins that have been repainted, etc.

Artist Resins - One of a Kind (OOAK) sculptures cast in resin with limited runs. Animal Artistry resins shows in this division.

Foals - All foals must show in their respective Foal class. Please indicate age on tag. This division is for Foals aged 2 years or younger.

 

Judging Criteria:

Workmanship/Collectibilty - Will be double judged with the halter class.

 

Workmanship will be judged on realism, quality of finish, including prep work, absence of seams, rubs, dust and lack of overspray. Attention to details in the painted piece is also considered. Conformation or acceptable colors will NOT be part of the criteria. Yellow NAN cards will be awarded.

 

Collectibilty is not judged on conformation but on condition, age, rarity and other similar factors. Please include a description card indicating why model is collectable. A Certificate of Authenticity is also welcome. Yellow NAN cards will be awarded.

 

Halter/Breed Classes will be judged on the appropriate breed/color characteristics of the model, anatomy, biomechanics, conformation, realism and the quality of the finish including absence of seams, rubs, dust and overspray. Green NAN cards will be awarded (pending approval).

 

Documentation is strongly recommended on unusual breeds, colors and/or patterns. Please limit documentation to an 8 1/2" by 11" sheet. A color photo and brief description capturing the essence of the breed is highly recommended. Due to potential damage(s), you may be asked to remove any documentation books if the class is large. Documentation is also highly recommended for models you want considered for Collectibility placings.

 

Performance Classes require a description card explaining what the horse is doing (except for pleasure entries) and will be judged on suitability of model, appropriate tack/props/obstacles for the class as well as well as overall quality and scale. Performance classes will not be held for any reason. Please plan accordingly. We do need to keep things moving. Pink NAN cards will be awarded (pending approval).

  

Results:

Results from the show will be emailed to entrants and posted to the website after the show. If you prefer a hard copy by snail mail, please provide a LSASE.

 

Additional Judging Notes:

Please do not interrupt the Judges while they are judging the class. If you have a question about your horse's results, please inquire with the judge immediately after the class is over so it is fresh in her mind. Or, if you have a question on which class to enter your model, please consult with the judges.

 

All decisions by the Judges are Final. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will excuse you and your party from the premises. No refunds will be given.

 

Class splits will be determined at the judge's discretion. However, due to time constraints, it is highly unlikely that classes will be split. Judges also reserve the right to combine classes with less than 4 entries.

 

Judges may not judge their own model or that of a relative or "live in" companion or roommate.

 

Judges may not judge a model they have created or sold within the last 6 months.

 

Door prizes and auctions:

There will be a raffle for everyone. Tickets $1.00 per ticket or six tickets for $5.00.

 

Food:

We will be ordering out from a local restaurant. Please bring extra money for lunch.

 

Show Hall Etiquette:

Please DO NOT PICK UP any exhibitor's models without their permission. Please instruct any of your guests on proper show hall etiquette. ABSOLUTELY No running in the show hall. You are responsible for any damages caused by yourself, your family and/or guests. Children under the age of 15 must be supervised by an adult at ALL times. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated from anyone of any age.

 

The show holder and judges reserve the right to remove any models left behind on the judging table. We will be careful but will not be responsible for any damages.
